More often than not, I can be found with a book in my hand. I have always been an avid reader and began writing stories at a young age. There’s just something about losing yourself in a book. I have laughed and cried as I flipped through the pages and wondered what the characters would do next. I’ve always wanted to share the joy I’ve experienced with others and being able to do so is the greatest adventure of all. Reading opens up a world of adventure. My goal is to share my love of reading with children of all ages.
Although the written word is my passion, writing has not been my only career. In high school I was convinced I wanted to be a nurse. The idea of helping others is wonderful but the actual nursing experience is a different story. Luckily I had other dreams… In college, when I finally switched my major from nursing to English, it was like meeting my first love a second time. But I soon found out that writing is one thing; publishing is a whole other beast.
I self-published my first children’s book in 2015 and self-published my second children’s e-book in 2019. In between writing, I have taught Middle School Language Arts, worked as a bank teller, on an assembly line, performed a variety of temp clerical jobs and worked as an administrative assistant. During all those jobs, writing has been a constant in my life and as I continue to write and share my stories with others, I hope my joy rings loudly through every page.
